Our goal at Ridgewood Animal Hospital is to keep pets well through a proactive approach to health and wellness. In doing so, there are some instances where elective surgery, injury or inevitable osteoarthritis may lead to pain and discomfort. Not only are we morally and ethically obligated to alleviate this condition, but physiologically it makes sense in order to expedite healing. Pain is known to cause stress and elevated cortisol levels (stress hormone), this results in delayed healing and increased risk of infection. At Ridgewood Animal Hospital we strive to utilize a multimodal approach to pain management. We want to ensure that our patients make a safe and timely recovery from every ailment or age related condition.
