Proper pain management involves preanesthetic. intra-operative and often post-operative (oral medication to go home) intervention. A comprehensive pain management protocol not only avoids needless pain and discomfort but also ensures timely wound healing. Chronic pain causes stress, high cortisol levels and subsequently delays wound healing.
